Community Partnership Forum 23rd October 2025

On the 23rd October we held our third Easingwold and Villages Community Partnership Forum with representatives from Easingwold Town and Parish Councils, Charities, Village Halls, The Galtres Centre, NYFRS and NYP to name just a few.
The Easingwold and Villages Partnership Group is part of a Pilot by North Yorkshire Council – Carl Les, the Leader of North Yorkshire Council said: “The idea of community partnerships has been at the heart of the pledge to ensure that local priorities and challenges are addressed as effectively as possible, so I am delighted that we have quickly taken the first step towards making them a reality. This backing for community partnerships shows our clear commitment to build North Yorkshire Council with local at its heart. It is a major step forward towards bringing together many partners and organisations to make sure that people have a stronger voice to tackle those issues that mean the most to them.
We will work closely with town and parish councils, public and voluntary sector partners, businesses and communities so that local issues drive decision-making and action via the partnerships”
This was our third Forum and this time we had speakers including Carly Walker from NYC talking about Healthcare Provision and Public Health, Kel Pizzuti from Transdev speaking about local bus services, PCSO Nicki Pounder and Nigel Warby talking about Neighbourhood Policing and then a table workshop to look at the Action Plan to add or update actions.
It was a very successful morning with excellent feedback. It finished with a delicious lunch in the restaurant at Hawkhills, our venue for the event. Previous events have included different speakers concerned with other issues raised by residents and contained in our Action Plan.

Community Partnership Forum in Easingwold on the 7th October 2024

As you will know on 1 April 2023, North Yorkshire Council was formed, bringing together the former County Council and seven District and Borough Authorities to create a new Unitary Authority for North Yorkshire. On 30 May 2023, it was agreed by the Executive Board Community Partnerships should be developed in a phased approach to create places of collaboration, between business, public sector partners, and the communities that they serve. Pilot partnerships commenced development in five geographic areas, one of which is the Easingwold & Villages area.
The aim of the Community Partnerships is to mobilise the energy, resources and partner relationships that exist in our communities to deliver the most appropriate local solutions for their people and place. The Easingwold Group was formed earlier this year and held an awareness event in the Galtres Centre on the 25th June to which all Parish Councils, Charities, Churches, Village and Parish Halls, Sports Clubs and other Voluntary organisations were invited to where the draft action plan was shared. This plan includes all the issues raised from the Let’s Talk campaign which was run by NYC in 2023. These include issues under the following headings, Health and Wellbeing, Access to services and connectivity, Infrastructure and Public Realm, Local Growth, and Community resilience.
Following on from this an event was held on the 7th October at Hawkhills for all those invited to the June event with presentations about Community Partnerships across NYC, Emergency Planning, North Yorkshire Police Traffic bureau and Community Speedwatch, Mobile and broadband connectivity and Highways. There followed a panel of speakers to answer questions from the attendees on any of the presentations, the Action Plan plus a representative from NYC Passenger Transport and the local Community Partnership.
The local group is now gathering momentum and will be sharing actions and further plans to take the issues forward over the coming months. We plan to hold another event to share progress so far and with different speakers. The plan is for everyone and we need your involvement.
