Community Partnership Forum in Easingwold on the 7th October 2024

As you will know on 1 April 2023, North Yorkshire Council was formed, bringing together the former County Council and seven District and Borough Authorities to create a new Unitary Authority for North Yorkshire. On 30 May 2023, it was agreed by the Executive Board Community Partnerships should be developed in a phased approach to create places of collaboration, between business, public sector partners, and the communities that they serve. Pilot partnerships commenced development in five geographic areas, one of which is the Easingwold & Villages area.
The aim of the Community Partnerships is to mobilise the energy, resources and partner relationships that exist in our communities to deliver the most appropriate local solutions for their people and place. The Easingwold Group was formed earlier this year and held an awareness event in the Galtres Centre on the 25th June to which all Parish Councils, Charities, Churches, Village and Parish Halls, Sports Clubs and other Voluntary organisations were invited to where the draft action plan was shared. This plan includes all the issues raised from the Let’s Talk campaign which was run by NYC in 2023. These include issues under the following headings, Health and Wellbeing, Access to services and connectivity, Infrastructure and Public Realm, Local Growth, and Community resilience.
Following on from this an event was held on the 7th October at Hawkhills for all those invited to the June event with presentations about Community Partnerships across NYC, Emergency Planning, North Yorkshire Police Traffic bureau and Community Speedwatch, Mobile and broadband connectivity and Highways. There followed a panel of speakers to answer questions from the attendees on any of the presentations, the Action Plan plus a representative from NYC Passenger Transport and the local Community Partnership.
The local group is now gathering momentum and will be sharing actions and further plans to take the issues forward over the coming months. We plan to hold another event to share progress so far and with different speakers. The plan is for everyone and we need your involvement.
